Looking forward to vacation

This summer we are going back to France but will bein the NE region this time. I have been to the NW a few times & we were in the South last year but this will be our first proper visit to the West. We have rented the most beautiful cottage on a farm in Valenciennes, I love what is to be my bedroom, it's so cute!

The surrounding area looks lovely too, ideal for walks, day trips & relaxing together.

Twisted sketch #150

Loved taking part in all the NSD challenges last week, I really like how challenges help me focus the direction of what I am working on. Still got all my layouts to share here but wanted to blog this one for Twisted Sketches #150. The twist this week is flowers. At first my mind sprang to the obvious options, Prima flowers & shaped punches, but once I had selected my photo I decided to use a variety of floral patterned papers to pick out the print on my skirt.

NSD on my desk

Got creative yesterday for NSD with lots of LOs made. These two are for this week's challenges over at Studio Calico. The first is for the Sunday Sketch, really like the look of leaving looped loose threads sometimes.

The second features some new stamps and my motto for any crisis, Keep Calm and Call Dad! I can always rely upon my dad to help out with advice whatever the situation. Latest panic was on Thursday morning when I couldn't get my final report to print. Thankfully he didn't mind an early morning phone call & suggested I try saving as a PDF then printing that, which worked - thanks Dad!

Start of Summer

So that's me finished my second year of university, at the half way point with two years to go until graduation. Got some work to do over summer but looking forward to indulging in some crafting just for me too.

The holidays have come just in time for International Scrapbooking Day tomorrow, I'm sure there will be lots of challenges to keep me busy next week. Yesterday I made a cute little mini album for my best friend but will have to wait until the end of next week to share as I don't want to spoil the surprise for her.

I plan to Smash! the next 4 months in the blue journal which is just pefect for summer. Some of the themed pages are sports related which will be good for the olympics and others have given me ideas for things to do over the holidays. I have already stuck in some pockets & journaling sheets plus designed the title page, my first official proejct of these holidays.

Always have a fun challenge with my friend to guess the number of projects I will complete over summer, would love to hear guesses from all my other readers too this year, please feel free to leave a guess with you comment xx

New Year's Day Together

We had a quiet day on January 1st happily spending time together playing games, reading and also building Lego. Dad got the Fallingwater Lego Architecture set for Christmas & it was really good to see him enjoying putting it together. He's an architect and Fallingwater is his favourite building, one day we hope to visit the actual thing in Pennsylvania! For now though we'll have to make do with a miniature version.

Creative Intentions 2012

Finally ready to beging blogging my 2012 creations. The main focus of my scrapbooking this year will be my Project Life album which I'm really excited about. I'll be using the binder & divided protectors mentioned in this post, unlike most people my album is 8x12". I prefer creating layouts this size rather than 12x12", and the square 4x4" pockets are a fun change from the 6x4" landscape pockets I have used for my Document 2010/11 albums.

My title page is fairly self explanitory made from a mixture of my favourite things. On the reverse is a little envelope containing a letter with my hopes & intentions for 2012 to be opened again on Hogmanay. It will be interesting to read at the end of December and compare to what actually happened over the course of the year. My One Little Word to focus on this year is 'Heart' so I also made a few little cards about that.

Back to university

We've only been back a week but university life is in full swing. Lots of projects to think about & work on. For the main module we are to design and make a salt & pepper set. These are my preliminary models, very girly & very me I'm sure you'll agree. Pink, turquoise & green even feature in my product designs! My Project Life album is going well. Completed my title page, double spread for New Year & double spread for week 1. Hopefully have time to work on week 2 after university tomorrow then I'll share some photos at the weekend.
